The MAHO story started on St. John, with Alex and Kris, a lot of love, a fair amount of cold beer, and a few falls off paddleboards. After another pair of expensive shades sank to the bottom, they agreed on an idea to make a product they relied on every day better.
Alex and Kris knew a handful of companies controlled nearly all of the eyewear industry, and segmented brands into focusing on either stylish design or premium materials. The idea beyond MAHO seemed obvious: combine unmatched optics, premium materials, and stylish design in a reasonably priced offering.
We exist to make every moment spent outdoors extraordinary. We do it by designing shades so lightweight and comfortable you’ll forget you have them on, by making lenses so clear you’ll see color and details like never before, and by backing our products for life.
Where We Are Now
We started with 4 frames, and now offer 25+ unique frame styles that rotate on a seasonal basis. Our patent-pending Osprey grip system offers the best grip in the game. Our patent-pending Ultramarine lenses, developed after hundreds of hours of research and development, offer unrivalled detail and color perception. We’re still independent, and hungry to make more sunny days even better.
