Handmade Acetate Sunglass Frames

Classic frames suited for nearly every face are only as good as the craftsmanship that goes into them.  That’s why we make every pair of Maho shades painstakingly by hand.

Most of our frames are made from Zyl acetate, a natural, cotton-based substance with beautiful and functional natural properties.

Have you ever had a pair of sunglasses that pinched your head and grew uncomfortable after a few hours of wear?  They probably weren’t made from Zyl, which naturally adapts to the wearer’s head so that our shades grow more comfortable over time.

Most other sunglass brands make their sunglasses using injection-molded plastic that remains static and uncomfortable until they inevitably break.

With our classic, handmade frames as the starting point, we build our finished product with precision engineered, stainless steel hinges with a matte finish.  Our hinges are built to last, which is why we offer a one year warranty on workmanship and materials, and a limited lifetime warranty for any kind of damage you can throw at these rock solid shades.

High quality optics is our passion.  That’s why we have scoured the globe for the very best technology, and now manufacture all of our shades with our OceanView polarized, patented nylon lenses.

Our OceanView lenses are lighter than any other lens on the market while offering exceptional clarity.  OceanView lenses have built-in polarization, hydrophobic layers to keep your lenses dry, an anti-fog treatment to maintain clarity with changing temperatures, an anti-reflective treatment to maintain clarity under changing light, and a diamond hardcoat to prevent scratching.  All of our lenses are highly resistant to heat, cracking, and shattering, while offering 100% UV protection.
